The PWS Bus Program provides morning and afternoon transportation to and from Cedarwood School in SW Portland and locations in Sellwood. We urge families to use this service to decrease the use of cars. Rider families are responsible for understanding busing program procedures. Parents and students should read the School Bus Behavior and Conditions of Ridership in the parent handbook prior to the first day of bus usage.

Pick up and drop off guidelines
Kindergarten through fourth grade students should be escorted to the bus by a parent or carpool person and picked up at the bus door by a designated adult or older sibling.* Fifth grade and older students, with parental permission, may be dropped off without an adult to meet them. Parents need to pull into the parking spaces before dropping off or picking up students. Carpooling children to bus stops is encouraged to reduce traffic and increase safety.
In the event that no adult arrives to pick up a K-4 student within 5 minutes of the arrival time, the bus driver will return the child to the Aftercare Program at PWS. A minimum of $5 will be charged for this service.
Emergency Situations and Safety
The bus driver carries a cell phone in case of emergencies. 503-442-7419. A parent organized and activated phone tree will be used when communication to the parents is required. Emergency evacuation drills are performed twice during the school year by the bus driver and will be announced ahead of time.
*Bus Driver must see that the child is met by the designated person.
