For students applying to the High School, please submit:
- Two years of grades (or year-end reports). Print this Student Records Request Form, fill in your information, and submit it to the registrar of the student's current school.
- the PWHS supplementary packet that needs to be filled out in order to complete the application process. (This includes 2 pages for a parent, 2 pages for the student, a 500 word essay for student, and teacher recommendation forms for two teachers to complete.)
SHADOWING in the high school for a day is a great way for prospective students to experience the curriculum and meet the teachers and students. Shadowing is not a required step in the application process, and the visit can occur before or after the student is accepted. If your student has not had the opportunity to shadow at PWHS, please contact shanti.mccarter(at)portlandwaldorf.org to arrange a visit.
INTERVIEW: When all application materials are received, Shanti McCarter will contact you to arrange an interview for the student and parents.
ACCEPTANCE: If applications are received by the January deadline, then acceptance letters should be mailed by early March. If applications are received after the deadline, then acceptance letters are usually mailed within a month of the interview.
CONTRACT SIGNING: After a student is accepted, a representative from our Business Office will contact you to complete the enrollment process through TADS (our online Tuition & Contract Management service).
ENROLLMENT: Enrollment paperwork is usually mailed in March. For applications submitted after the deadline, enrollment paperwork should arrive to you within a couple weeks after acceptance.
