Harvest Festival

Portland Waldorf School has a tradition of celebrating the change of season with a Harvest Festival in the beginning of October. We gather together on a Saturday to share a potluck picnic and seeds or treasures from our gardens. We press apples for cider, make dolls out of corn husks and carve pumpkins. There are no tickets or money exchanged, just time together as a community. We missed this celebration last year and were delighted that we were able to come together last weekend. The activities were simplified and there was no food sharing, but it was a joyous event nonetheless.

You can see in these pictures the enormous beauty of this season and the happiness of our students. Good harvest to all.

Special thank you to Emmy Gaines for these lovely photos.
