Inspiring a lifelong love for learning

Portland Waldorf School is a private, independent school located in Milwaukie, OR. We are the most established Waldorf School in the Portland metropolitan region and the only nursery through high school program in the Pacific Northwest.

Our arts-integrated, holistic education engages each child as a whole person, nurturing intellectual curiosity alongside artistic expression, emotional well-being, and a deep connection to themselves and the world around them. Our students are creative, independent thinkers who meet the world with initiative and purpose.

Land Acknowledgement

Portland Waldorf School recognizes that we are here because of sacrifices forced upon the original people of this land. We honor with gratitude the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Cowlitz, Siletz, Tumwater, Watlala bands of the Chinook, the Tualatin, Kalapuya and many other Tribal nations and people of the Willamette and Columbia River regions, who belong to and have cared for this land since time immemorial. We honor and pay our respects to the Native American people of this land, past, present and future.

Michaél Festival

Tuesday, September 30, 11:45am-12:30pm

This pageant is an archetypal experience of the cycle of the seasons and the experience of being human in our world today. As the outer light fades, and leaves begin to turn and fall, we witness the transformation of nature. At the same time, we can begin to move out of the world of the senses and live more fully into our interior world, where riches of the life of the soul are cultivated. The Michaél Festival, which has at its heart the aspects of transformation and courage, can be a moment for all of us to remind ourselves of what it is to be truly human, here and now.
